What is gardening?

 


Gardening is the practice of growing and cultivating plants . In gardens, ornamental plants are often grown for their flowers, foliage, or overall appearance; useful plants, such as root vegetables, leaf vegetables, fruits, and herbs, are grown for consumption, for use as dyes, or for medicinal. 

Gardening may be very specialized, with only one type of plant grown, or involve a variety of plants in mixed plantings. It involves an active participation in the growing of plants. Most of the peoples loves gardening . It makes the human physically fit and fine . I am also a gardening lover . I grows lots of vegetables , fruits , ornamental,  flowers  plants etc . In the coming post i will explain about basics of gardening .

Basics of gardening

Before  starting gardening there are some basics of gardening : Choose a right spot : First you should choose a right spot   which receives 5-6 hours of sunlight . By choosing sunny area for gardening as the sunlight is very important to plants for their healthy growth of the plant .  Also ensure that your area for growing plants receives the flow of  wind or air . It should help  pollinators to pollinate buds .   Requirement of soil : Plants always well grown in nutrient rich soil . You can easily identify which soil is benefecial for plants . By pressing soil in your hand , then throw it from the height of 1 ft. , if the ball made by pressing it with hand is crumbled into tiny pieces . This identitfies your soil is good for growing plants if not than your soil is not good for plants .  IF you know about your soil then rejuvinate your soil .
